In 2004 AD, the California legislature unanimously passed the resolution and established it as a law: March 21 is the “Songshan Shaolin Festival” in California every year.

March 21 every year, local people will celebrate the official holiday named “Shaolin Temple” in various forms. The Abbot of Shaolin Temple, the Great Monk Yongxin led Shaolin monks to California in 2004 and 2009 and shared the Shaolin culture with the public.

To celebrate 2018 Songshan Shaolin Festival, more than 10 Shaolin pavilions from southern California, USA will jointly host celebration activities and spend the holiday with the public to help more people know Shaolin Chan, Martial arts, Medicine and Skills as well as the healthy lifestyle.
